Flippin’ Out
I had pretty much forgotten that Pinball FX2 was released yesterday until I saw someone comment about the game over at the Xbox.com forums. So as soon as I got home last night after work I downloaded that beast and then received my free tables (since I paid for them on the first game they let me transfer them right over). It took a little while to get them all over but once I started playing. . . WHAM! 2 hours just disappeared in a blink of an eye.
Yeah, I know… the hours just didn’t disappear, but it seemed like it since I was so engrossed with the game. They really upgraded the graphics and the physics of the game that’s for sure. I even took the time to download the new core tables (for a mere 800 points – 200 per table) and played those. There are still two more individual tables to get but I’m short 2 lousy mspoints to get one. You know that I’m going to go and get more points.
I can tell I’m going to be spending lots of time with this game for a while. All the while I’m playing I’ll be imagining how much better Game Room would have been if Zen Studios was the one that handled that project.
Guitar Spartan: Halo of Rock
Okay, so Guitar Spartan doesn’t exist and most likely will never appear, but for the last couple of days, Halo: Reach and Guitar Hero 5 have been the two games I’ve been playing the most of. It makes you wonder (well… if you were me it would make you wonder) how the two could be combined. Master Chief, fed up with fighting the Covenant masses, trades in his trusty assault weapon for a guitar and begins his Ring Tour. Grunt roadies carry his equipment with Guilty Spark keeping tabs on everything as the manager. but seriously . . .
I’m trying to up my abilities a bit in the Guitar Hero/Rock Band franchises and have been trying to do more with the Hard difficulty and finding that it’s not as impossible as it appears to be (like in Guitar Hero II). I’ve actually purchased more of the games from the music franchises and plan on tackling them more in the near future. Getting the 808 stars is going to be rough because I’m sure I’m going to have to go more with the mic and drums which I have some trouble with. Bass is my weapon of choice though.
Halo: Reach turned out to be a little interesting as I combined my cautious tactical approach with my wife’s run and gun in co-op campaign. I died a lot. To be honest though, she died a lot too. However we did manage to get to the end on medium difficulty. At the end you could tell the differences of gamestyle by the commendations and achievements that we ended up with. I find that fun to look at.
Still, it would be interesting seeing Master Chief with a guitar. . . .
New Location, New Look
Well, I finally decided to move to the new Location since Microsoft no longer wants to deal with our gaming blogs. I can say I’m am thoroughly underwhelmed so far.
No longer do I have my gamercard or Xbox360 information which is the main reason I even started my blog. I guess if I can no longer find a way to incorporate my gaming into a blog, there really is no reason to continue blogging.
I can’t even navigate well. Everything is very counter intuitive. I’ve poked a little here and there, but there are very little on the descriptions – unless you want a theme, there’s plenty of information for those.
You can probably tell I’m not impressed.
